Monte Schiavo, under meticulous winemaker Pier Luigi Lorenzetti, have established an enviable reputation for their Verdicchio - which is the name of both the grape and the wine Marche is famous for. We have chosen two of the six Verdicchio they make. Both are gorgeous fresh dry white wines, at once crisp, tight and minerally, but always with fragrant and juicy fruits and complexities. These are extremely versatile wines that go brilliantly with more than just seafood.
Maybe not so famous, but of ‘stand up and get noticed’ quality and value are the reds. The ‘Sassaiolo’ is a gorgeous Rosso Piceno DOC and of unbeatable “bang for buck”. The top end reds are stunners. ‘Pieralisi for Friends’, named after the well-to-do Pieralisi family that own Monte Schiavo, is a wine previously only made for Pieralisi’s closest friends – hence the name. Fortunately, we can now enjoy some too. ‘Adeodato’ may well be the best Montepulciano wine in the world, certainly one of Italy’s top wines. Expect an explosion of flavours and complexity with incredible length. These two reds are a showcase of the exceptional Lorenzetti talent.

Monte Schiavo Verdicchio Coste del Molino 2007 - Castelli de Jesi DOC Classico
The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi zone in Le Marche is the heart and sole of Verdicchio on the planet, and this is an excellent example. Green (Verde) yellow in colour. Citrus, pineapple, dry, long clean finish. Screw cap for our export market. 6-PACK

50% Sangiovese, 50% Montepulciano. Beautiful red fruit driven, combined with sangiovese savouriness and a soft oak structure. Balance with complexity. 6-PACK
Monte Schiavo 'Pieralisi for Friends' 2004 - DOC Esino Rosso
This blend of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Merlot was until very recently made exclusively for the Pieralisi family and their friends (hence the name). We are now fortunate to all have access to this superb red wine. Very full flavoured, complex and long. Fruit and savoury flavours in perfect harmony. Such quality no doubt helped establish this rather new DOC, "Esino Rosso".
Monte Schiavo Adeodato 2005 - Montepulciano - Rosso Conero DOC
New! This wine is named Adeodato to honour of the original founder of the family company, Adeodato Pieralisi. You may never have tasted a Montepulciano with such explosive flavours and power. This is quite simply awesome and very rare.
