Wine Selection:

Villa Bizzarri - DOC Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Italy

Named after the village in which it is located, Villa Bizzarri is the result of (Monte Schiavo’s) Pieralisi family joining forces with the Abruzzo wine producing Gugliemana family.  Located near the border with Marche, tradition meets modern winemaking methods to produce delicious red wines made from the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grape.  Aromas of fresh berries, a firm structure, and a long and spicy finish are the norm.  These are perfectly balanced wines that exhibit quality well above their price points.  ‘Sasso Arso’ is all about the charming fruit.  ‘Girone di Folli’ is a further step up in complexity through older, lower yielding vineyards and gentle aging in large oak barrels for 12-15 mths.

Villa Bizzarri Girone dei Folli 2004 - Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC
New!   An incredibly refined red wine at this price point.  The deep red colour is typical of Montepulciano, and the aromas have scents of ripe fruits, berries, and plums together with Mediterranean herbs and wild flowers. It is full bodied, even when young it has a depth of flavour which becomes rounder and softer with age, as the tannin matures.   6-packs.
