What a discovery! Since 1919, four Fromm generations have nurtured these stunning vineyards producing magnificent grapes for others – only to see them blended away with other material. 10 years ago they started making their own wine to discover their terroir was indeed very special. Recent releases have revealed the full potential of these old vines and we are ecstatic to add Te.Aro to our portfolio. As an indicator of the quality and character, the Cabernet Sauvignon won the 2008 Barossa Valley Trophy for best Cabernet – outclassing some very big, well known names – two or three times the price! The other wines we have chosen are equally excellent in our opinion. The Shiraz and the Cabernet are both rated 94 points by James Halliday.

Te Aro Estate Minnie & Elsa Pinot Grigio 2008 - Barossa Hills
High in the Barossa Hills in one of the coolest pockets, the Fromms grow this lovely Pinot Grigio. Pears, spice, minerals and beautifully textured. Seamless integration of flavours and balanced to perfection. Romps in 4 stars Winestate Mar/Apr 2009.
Te Aro Estate Joker's Grin Shiraz Cabernet 2006 - Barossa Valley
Fresh Berry aromas capture your attention. The palate is soft and elegant with a touch of black pepper. Dusty tannins cap of a very more-ish wine. 4 stars Winestate Mar/Apr 2009.
Te Aro Charred Door Shiraz 2006 - Barossa Valley
This full bodied Barossa beauty is the result of careful selection from the Fromms' best Shiraz vineyards, including tenderly cared for old vines. Abundant berries consume the mouth, finishing with cinnamon and spice. It's generous, complex, with so many flavours seemlessly integrated and lingering for ages. 94 points Halliday.
Te Aro Pump Jack Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
The best Cabernet, including 90 year old vine grapes, are behind this top class red. Barossa to the bones. Full generous flavours but with distinct cool climate Cabernet herb and mint. The 2006 vintage eclipsed big name Cabernets 3 times the price in the Barossa Valley Wine Show taking out the Trophy (top gold). It has gone on to win many more gold and accolades. This 2008 vintage in our opinion raises the bar a little higher as it shows even more refinement than the great 2006.
