Amadio Wines

Three generations of continuously raising the bar

The Amadio Wine story starts three generations ago with Giovanni Amadio, an immigrant to Australia from Italy in 1936.  It continued with his son, Gaetano, who established the original Chain of Ponds vineyards in the Adelaide Hills in 1985, and in so doing, was one of the early pioneers to put the Adelaide Hills on the premium wine regions map.  Today, Giovanni’s grandson, Danniel Amadio, continues the family wine success story with his wines from the Kersbrook region also in the Adelaide Hills.  We have kicked off our relationship with Amadio by selecting their top wine – the Amadio Grand Reserve Methode Traditionelle sparkling.  This Cuvee benefits from blending vintages of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay dating back to 2001.  The result is one of Australia’s top sparkling wines.  Dry, fresh and lively, yet with full, lasting complex flavours and a seductive mouth feel.  An array of sensations that can only be derived from a perfect blend of multiple vintages.

Amadio Grand Reserve NV Brut
The magic stems from the blend of multiple vintages dating back to 2001 to make a cuvee that is both fresh and lively, but with the complexity only longer time on lees can produce.  Danniel Amadio has perfected the Cuvee!  He has nailed it!  This is premium Aussie sparkling made in the tradition of Champagne.  Trophy Adelaide Hills Wine Show 2007
