Wine Selection:

SIGLA - Maipo Valley, Chile

4 Professors of Oenology band together to make the best red they can.

In 2003, four oenologists (Cecilia Guzman, Jose P. Martin, Pierre Viala and German Lyon – all professors at the local Wine University) got together to begin a new project of passion, friendship and technical development, to create the best possible red wine they can.  Sigla.

It is a blend of Cabernet and Syrah grapes from Upper Maipo Valley, famous for very high quality Chilean wine.  The cabernet provides structure and power while the Syrah a sense of origin.  In the Sigla3 you absolutely taste the terroir of these fine organic vineyards.

Ony 750 dozen has been made.  The first vintage was called Sigla1, then came Sigla2, and now the 2007 vintage is Sigla3.  This numerical naming system will continue for years to come. It can be a privilege to be able to drink this wine in Chile – now it is available in Australia.
