Wine Selection:

Sons of Eden  - Eden and Barossa Valleys

Only 2% of the crop is used for these wines.

Sons of Eden was formed from the partnership of Simon Cowham (one of Australia's most accomplised vignerons) and Corey Ryan (one of Australia's most accomplised winemakers).  They make a formidable team and their exceptional skill and experience is expressed in the Sons of Eden Wines.  (Named in "Ten of the Best" by James Halliday Wine Companion 2010.

Simon nurtures the vines that are used in some of the Eden/Barossa icons.  Indeed, 98% of the crop is sought after by the likes of Henschke, Yalumba and Torbreck.  Only 2% of the crop (mostly old vineyards) is selected for Corey to craft into reds of considerable flavour, complexity and length.  The sole white is an Eden Valley Riesling that is pure text book, expressing what hand picked 40+ y.o vines can produce.  Corey's winemaking background is Yalumba, Henschke and Villa Maria (Chief Winemaker).

It is hard to imagine better pedigree behind any wine.

Sons of Eden 'Freya' Riesling 2009 - Eden Valley, SA

100% Riesling hand picked from 40+ year old vines in a single vineyard in Central Eden.  Intense citrus blossom characters with balanced natural acidity.  2009 follows on from the excellent 2008 (96 points Halliday).  This vintage is at least as good in our opinion.

Sons of Eden 'Kennedy' GSM 2008 - Barossa Valley

Great pedigree in this old vine GSM.  Last four vintages have won big accolades (96 points Halliday - Barossa Trophy Winner).  The new 2008 carries on the extremely high standard offered at a fabulous price.  Deep crimson in colour this wine has aromas of ripe blackcurrants and plum together with clove spice. A rich complex palate, displaying layers of ripe berry flavour with velvety tannins, together with great length and depth.

A blend of hand picked cofermented shiraz (97%) and Viognier (3%).  Deep in colour, this alluringly aromatic wine displays black pepper and chocolate notes around an intriguing floral lift. A rich opulent wine with soft silky tannins that skirt a muscular fruit core.   6-PACK
