Scala Dei Priorat, Spain Founded by the same families that bought the carthusian house in 1840, Cellers d'Scaladei is the lively history of the wine in the Priorat. From this winery, the first bottles of Priorat wine came out, in 1878, on the way to the Universal Exhibition in Paris. Wines still today are aged in the old cava of the Carthusian monks, from the 17th century, open exclusively to guided tours. Bodegas de Scala Dei makes a new slat forward with the renovation of its technical team and introducing important changes in the production of wines. The wine is conceived from the vineyard, taking care of the viticulture to the maximum, and looking for the maximum expression of each one of the terroirs. |
